Oliver was our first Cavalier and is a wonderfully sweet pet. As a young dog, Oliver flew through his obedience courses with ease, so we decided to pursue it competitively. However, we learned after one obedience competition that it wasn't exactly his cup of tea, when on the off-lead "heel" he ran straight out of the ring and headed for the doors. That was our first and last trial. So, it was on to bigger and better things for Oliver, and the following month, in November of 2005, he was paired with his then nine-year-old friend Emma in Junior Showmanship. Oliver was an enthusiastic showman who was happiest when in the ring with his Junior Handler. Together, Emma and Oliver had a successful run in the Juniors ring with many first place wins at both Specialty and All-Breed shows, in addition to qualifying for Eukanuba in 2008. Now at nearly 7 years old, Oliver is mostly retired from Juniors, though he will likely make a few appearances from time to time.
